Personal Bio: Scaling Beyond the Built Environment

The sound of a large-scale architecture firm is unmistakable. It is the rhythmic hum of high-end workstations, the tactile friction of trace paper, and the relentless cadence of deadlines. For over a decade, that world, has been my home. As a Senior Design Project Manager, I’ve navigated the intricate dance of translating conceptual visions into physical reality. I’ve lived in the details of commercial interiors and balanced the heavy lifting of project management for multi-million dollar builds.

But throughout those eleven years, I noticed a recurring crack in our foundation. It wasn’t in the structural slabs or the design intent; it was in the tools we used to create them.

The Friction of the Physical

In the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner) industry, we are masters of complexity. We manage thousands of variables, from building codes to supply chain logistics. Yet, the technology intended to simplify our lives often adds a layer of friction. We find ourselves working for our software rather than having our software work for us.

I’ve stood in that gap. I’ve seen how a brilliant design can be throttled by a lack of interoperability, and how a project's budget can bleed out through the "data silos" that exist between a contractor’s spreadsheet and an architect’s Revit model.

The realization was simple but profound: We’ve perfected the art of the physical build; now we must solve the friction of the digital process.

The Pivot: From Space to Systems

My journey from the drafting table to the tech frontier wasn’t born out of a desire to leave design behind, but rather a drive to redesign the process itself. I am pivoting into the world of AECO Tech because I believe the "built environment" should include the digital infrastructure we inhabit during the creative process.

My 11+ years in the industry have given me a "boots-on-the-ground" perspective that a traditional software developer might lack. I know what it’s like to need an answer on a job site at 7:00 AM. I understand the nuance of a client’s aesthetic vision versus the rigid constraints of a budget.

Demystifying the Landscape

My mission is to create a more accessible tech landscape. To me, "accessibility" in tech means:

• Intuitive UI/UX: Tools that speak the language of designers.

• Automation with Intent: Using AI to remove the mundane, repetitive tasks that lead to burnout, freeing us to return to "the craft."

• Connected Ecosystems: Ensuring the Owner’s vision, the Engineer’s data, and the Architect’s intent live in one fluid, transparent stream.

As I transition into this space, leveraging my experience in the commercial design scene and preparing for new horizons; my focus remains the same: Connection. I am no longer just designing physical spaces; I am designing the workflows that build the world. By connecting the rigor of architecture with the agility of technology, we aren't just making buildings faster, we’re making the act of creation more human again.
