Stephanie Jackson was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She began acting at a young age and continued throughout high school and college, where she received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University. After college she traveled extensively and worked abroad before heading back to New York, this time Manhattan, where she attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Upon graduation she received the Lawrence Langer Award for Voice & Speech and went on to complete a third year at the Academy as a member of their invitation-only repertory Company.
Some of her favorite theatre credits include Hecuba in The Trojan Women, Dolly West in Dolly West’s Kitchen, Masha in Chekhov in Yalta (all at the Lester Martin Theatre, NYC); Mary Featherstone in How the Other Half Loves (Mary MacArthur Theatre, NYC) and Bonnie in Hurlyburly (Mannie Greenfield Theatre, NYC). In the spring of 2008, she co-produced and acted in the world premiere of the all-female show, So She Said, directed by Larissa Lury (Abingdon Theatre, NYC).
Stephanie is also an experienced improviser and has trained extensively at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre. Stephanie made the transition from NYC to Los Angeles and settled in at the beginning of 2009. |
